You came to us as a savior,
A beacon of hope and transformation.
We waited too long to resist you.
Now we’ve dearly paid for our indulgence
Of your dream.
And after all you’ve wrought, you still play messiah,
Saving us from ourselves.
And after all we’ve lost, we reject your promise.
We’re taking it back for ourselves.
We saw your brave new world,
We saw your brand new sky,
And we lost our minds.
Awake from slumber, and the spell is broken now
You played the part of the prophet
And we followed the path of your vision.
But we’ve seen the shape of the future you would have made.
Your utopia dies.
And after every failure, you won’t be shaken.
You’ll follow your dream to the end.
And after what we’ve seen, we can’t let you triumph.
Indifference will be our death.
Awake from slumber and the spell is broken
Now we see what you would bring.
Alive in spite of what you tried to realize.
Now we see your true face.
We’re reasserting and reclaiming what you tried to steal
Our right to be
And after all you’ve wrought, you still play messiah,
Saving the world from itself.
And after all we’ve lost, we reject your promise.
We’re taking it back for ourselves.
Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
Your music connects on every level, whether it’s physical, emotional or spiritual. Impressive musicianship and song writing. Love how you leave this undefined space for us listeners to draw our own images and blend in our own personal lives when listening. Beacons is one of my favorite albums of all time! olaussem
